Electromagnets – How can electricity create a magnet?

From my understanding, current is measured in Amperage. That is, how well and effectively the flow of electricity is actually traveling through the circuits or conduits. Volts simply measure how much electricity there is, and amps can be deduced by figuring out how much resistance is in whatever it is that the electricity is traveling through, the ohms.
I think that’s right, but I’m no electrician. =P
5-10A could probably kill youit should also be noted that this current flowing through your body wont kill you instantaneously. the higher the current flowing through your body the less time it would take to kill you
5-10 amperes would fucking fry you dude. It only takes about 200+ mili-amps to drop an adult.
y is he not getting shocked? if u did this whit a car batter whoud u get shocked?
I don’t know electricity that well but i’m pretty sure a car battery, just like these little batteries, does not have enough volts to push a current through us. We don’t conduct electricity too well, we have a high resistance. For example, Take a 9 volt battery (square one) and put your finger across the 2 circles. It won’t do anything. Then put your tongue across them and it will give you a little tickle. I guess dry skin has more resistance then our saliva soaked tongue. Dont lick car batterys
0.02 amps is required to kill a person instantly, more than 1 wont kill you; but shock you so badly you wont die straight away.
no you dumb mother fuckers you wont get shocked even if you use the power mains (if done properly). (altho the puny copper wire would melt)
the electricity ‘prefers’ to take the easiest medium to travel through. Altho carbon is a good conductor (we are essentially made of water and carbon) since 1st the copper is in between the outlet of the power and the fingers, and the copper is a better conductor, the electricity will travel along the wire.
Actually there is a critical part that you forgot. Electricity takes the path of least resistance to ground. If you are using an uninsulated wire and the path of the wire doesn’t lead to ground it’s not the path of least resistance. Under most circumstances you lead to ground and are the path of least resistance. So sticking an uninsulated piece of wire into the wall outlet would likely lead to you getting hit with 110v. Also it’s the water and salts in your body that are the good conductors.
*shame face* right you are sir.
very cool video, sir!that was a good explination
thank you i looked at a couple other videos and still had some trouble because electricity and magnetism is a very abstract concept but your explanation of ‘tube of magnetism’ really explained it to me well. thanks
All this “lite dual nature” and magic waves is a bunch of nonsinse, made up by liberal scientists in order to discredit the Bible and to remove God from our money. The speed of lite makes elictricity and magnets?!? Lite and magnets IS TWO DIFFERENT THINGS! How can lites make magnets? Lite is a wave and dots at the same times?!?! LITE IS DOTS, YOU IDIETS! Liberals are realy stupid, believing all theory of relatives, is this nonsinse!
Lite, I mean light, is not electricity. They are both energy, but in different forms. So, you are right, light does not make magnets, electricity does.
Why doesn’t it just create a short in the circuit? I would think it would be moving the electrons as fast as it could from the Negative to the Positive lead, cause friction on the wire, making it really hot.?
wd40 is magnetic i discovered this and will put it on yourtube. put a can of wd40 near a magnets and the magnet will spin
who are u and what did u do with bill nye?
the wire warms up and what you say is true, the batteries will drain alot faster but it will still work as an electromagnet
If Magnet can create electricity in a coil of wire, so can electricity in a coil create magnet in the metal which can be attracted…
Am i right guys…may i get thumbs up!
yes…. good refresher course… but there’s more….
Doesn’t the wire need to be coated in enamel to prevent the wire from creating a direct short circuit?
yur awesome!
Magnetism and electricity are the same force, a.k.a electromagnetism, which is one of the four forces in the universe. Electricity does not really create magnetism, nor vice versa.
@HollandProjects
thats what i thought when i saw anathor video with this kind off wire but it is insulted the insulation just looks like copper wire
Does the metal used to coil the wire around mater? Does it have to be steel / iron? What if I use a metal such as nickle, which has a lower electronic resistance? Would nickle work? Would it work better because it has a lower resistance?
you sound familiar, did you ever do a series on the bible being a lie, which it is? if you didnt you sound like the dude, just curious.
