Trying to find out if H2O is combustible in the making or/and the separation of hydrogen & oxygen atoms? Hydrogen car makes water and electricity. How come the cars dont run on water?
Does water combust in the separation of the atoms? Does water combust in the combination of the H&O atoms?

water isn’t combustible because it is the lower energy form. hydrogen is relatively unstable and is ready to react because of its small size, while water is uniquely stable. all molecules and reactions are driven to move to the lower energy form. Although, there was an interesting theory from the movie "Chain Reaction" with Keanu Reeves that dealt with this subject. The theory was that if you use a high powered laser to separate Hydrogen and oxygen there would be a chain reaction giving off hydrogen and oxygen gas which could be burned, creating water as a waste product which would in turn be separated into gases again by the chain reaction. But this is impossible since it breaks the laws of thermodynamics (conservation of energy).
Water is the waste product. Fuel cell cars can’t run on water for the exact same reason a gasoline engine can’t run on exhaust fumes.
